ABFRLs Manufacturing Facilities Lead in Protective Gear

by ABFRLadmin | December 6, 2021

We at ABFRL present stories excerpted from our internal newsletter In Touch, where we celebrate our people and their contributions.

ABFRL dedicated its manufacturing facilities at Karnataka, Tamil Nadu and Odisha to produce PPE and coveralls for frontline warriors. The staff was reskilled and machinery reengineered in record time to start producing 3-ply Single Use Face Masks, Cloth Masks and Coveralls.

The MFL factories introduced several new machines, such as mask sterilization conveyor belt, mask folder making machine, taping machine, rotatory creasing machine were developed to cut down production time, thereby increasing efficiency and improving productivity overall.

These Kaizens also helped optimize manpower and put non-functioning machines to the best use. Our in-house mask sterilization machine that uses UV light to disinfect the masks was developed at zero cost. All this was done maintaining the utmost standards of safety, hygiene and social distancing within the factory premises.

To support India’s fight against the pandemic, our manufacturing units liaised with Governments to produce essential supplies of masks and PPEs for frontline healthcare workers across the country. Manpower was reskilled and machinery redesigned in record time to manufacture PPEs and masks while maintaining highest level of hygiene and safety standards at the factories. All our factory employees including the doctors, nurses and HR leads supported us to work in a united way in this cause. Their contribution to the cause is truly commendable.
